About
My name is Sarah and I am a studio potter based between The Cotswolds (UK) and Rotterdam (NL).
I was born in The Cotswolds in 1999. I studied Fine Art at Manchester Metropolitan University and then moved to Rotterdam to complete my study.
My fascination with clay began whilst playing on my dad’s farm as a child. I sculpted miniature utopian landscapes in the huge piles of sand, earth and rock. On a less romantic note, I also loved to create mud pies from the cow pats and daisies.
Just before my move abroad (2020), I discovered a 30 year old potter’s wheel in one of the sheds. Over that one month period of hovering between the UK and NL, I unearthed my passion for throwing.
I started teaching very early on as I found it to be incredibly helpful to my own development, and in 2023 I found myself a studio with enough space to start doing small scale production.
My Rotterdam studio/shop is in the Hofbogen, an old railway viaduct filled with creative businesses and cosy cafe’s. I have four wheels, an electric kiln and enough table space for glazing and hand building. Feel free to come and check it out.
My Cotswolds studio is in our farm shed. (Don’t worry, the wheels are level and the tea is hot!)
